With the exception of a single phone call report, the ride to the charity auction was silent. Mamoru spent the time mulling his potential strategies now that Nagi had been dispatched. It was good that there was some protection in place, but anyone on the other end watching (and there had to be someone) now had the chance to notice. Nagi's addition placed a time pressure upon him to pinpoint the threat so it could be dealt with before they slipped too far back into the shadows to be traced. A gamble to a degree to potentially alert the enemy, but riskier still to forfeit all protection and hope to beat the clock before they struck. Nagi would force them to be more careful, whether they realized as much or not.
The car pulled to a stop at the entrance. Mamoru climbed out of the backseat and scanned the nearby faces for Knight. It wasn't anticipated that any protection would be needed that evening, but better to err on the side of caution.
