Hearing that familiar voice, Marui turns and instantly breaks a grin of delight.
"Well isn't it Akaya? Funny meeting you here. Been at least six months, hasn't it? What a busy season. How've you been?"
He feels a rush of nostalgia for their school days seeing Akaya here. Naturally, he thinks of Yukimura, too, but he fully expects to hear about him too soon enough. For the moment, the fact he's supposed to be looking for a date is forgotten.
“Mostly been in the studio, cutting a new album,” Akaya says with a casual grin. He doesn’t mention throwing himself into his work since his latest break-up with Yukimura. It’s not the kind of thing he feels like launching into after seeing an old friend. Especially one who is also friends with the ex. (Though maybe Akaya is darkly curious whether Marui’s heard anything from Yukimura…)
"I just finished Wimbledon. I'm on a short break before heading to North America for the Canadian Open and U.S. Open. They're only two weeks apart, so I'm going on a food tour in between." He winks.
"That album gonna be anything I can pick up in stores soon? Those plane rides are pretty long without good music."
