Whether this was work or a date was not something that Kuranosuke would ever stop to consider. Dinner-in was fairly mundane, after all. Though if he were to look back on any of his past hook-ups, he would at least acknowledge that this sort of thing was rare: that is to say, allowing such a person up into his house for reasons other than sex. It probably helped that she worked in the same business, but what really mattered was that it was uncomplicated. It was what it was, and neither of them bothered to frame it as anything specific.

He paused as he pulled out a cup from the cupboard, tilting his head at Kimina from over the counter. It wasn't his intention to take a break. Kuranosuke could work for hours on end without pause, a trait that was actually not so unusual in his line of work. Though even there, he was known to be more focused than most others.

"I was just getting coffee," he said. "...do you need a break?"

"...Sure," she said, as though it had been an invitation rather than a question. Kimina knew better, but she also knew that if she wanted to visit at all, it was her responsibility to make it happen. Asking if she needed a break just happened to be a convenient excuse.

She stood from the couch and joined Kuranosuke in the kitchen, taking the liberty of getting a second mug down for herself. Hey, as long as he was making coffee.

"There's a rumor circulating that the Prime Minister's speech tomorrow is to announce upcoming changes to the corporate tax structure. That should be fun." Like a root canal.

"Fun?" Kuranosuke quirked his brow as he reached over and poured her some coffee, since he already had the pot in his hand.

Her sarcasm was clear; tax structures were never entertaining. It just entailed a lot more things to catch up on and incorporate into their portfolios. A pain in the ass, more like.

"And here, I thought Kenya found me too caught up in my work," he said with a brief smirk.

Kimina issued a quick thanks for the poured coffee and took a sip, though she paused halfway through it to eye Kuranosuke with a knowing smirk.

"You don't get to take a free pass on this, mister. You're as guilty as I am."
