The guy didn't seem all too surprised he was drinking someone else's beer. Why he didn't just wave 'Pervert' over to bring him a fresh one in the first place was a mystery. Kuranosuke eyed that dark grin with a cool look, not really annoyed anymore but discerning. He's seen this guy before, in the club. He worked security here, though apparently not at the moment.

"Slow night?" It was ironically said, given how crowded the place was then.

Hak snorted and swiveled the stool partway around in Kuranosuke's direction. He had no objection to chatting up the guy, and maybe was even interested. Now that he'd gotten a good look, he remembered the man. Infrequent patron, usually accompanied by a much more energetic guy, didn't talk to people much. Hak wondered why that was.

"Well... depends on how you want to define slow. Where'd your buddy go? You get separated?"

If Kuranosuke was surprised that the guy remembered he'd come in with Kenya, he didn't show it. Maybe the guy wasn't just some dumb muscle after all. He turned to face him, giving him a more thorough once-over.

"He probably bumped into someone. He comes here a lot more than I do," he answered.

So he had the guy's attention. Turning the body towards anything showed openness and interest.

"Really? I never would have guessed," he snarked.

"How observant of you," he said dryly. Kuranosuke wasn't going to give an argument there. Maybe it was pretty obvious that he wasn't the sort of person who usually poked around establishments like this on a weekend night.

The guy was brash and sarcastic, qualities that most people probably found offensive. At least Kuranosuke wasn't most people.

"There are a lot of different types that come to clubs," Hak continued, needing little excuse to continue talking. He lifted one eyebrow. "But they usually don't come here to be alone."

Which made the man's sitting at the bar a bit of a puzzle. Maybe he was just having a drink for now, but his demeanor wasn't exactly inviting. He had to know this. And while Hak did remember he was here with a friend, a club was surely a horrible place to spend quality time with just the one you came with.

"So: anything in particular you're looking for?"

Was this guy trying to pick him up? Kuranosuke wasn't exactly the most inviting sort of person, but this kind of thing did happen on occasion. He dressed well, and Kenya would say he had a good face. Not that Kuranosuke really took much of that into account.

"Like what?" he asked, with a quirk of his brow. Was he offering?
