"Hey, you never know when NatGeo might want another animal wonder-worker," Rasu joked, stepping back to allow Yukimi room to stand.

"And in fairness, I like to flirt with just about anything. Why should danger get all the fun?"

"Because NatGeo should definitely do a series on city cats. It's the urban jungle, after all?"

Yukimi actually thought it was rather unfortunate that the neighborhood had such a feral cat problem. He doubted any serious journalistic outlet would pick up a story about them, even if he did write one.

"And you shouldn't advertise that you flirt with anything. People will think you don't have any standards." Yukimi grinned.

"I've got standards!" Rasu protested with a laugh. "I just happen to always be surrounded by people who are awesome."

Human, yes, but Rasu was the sort of person that thought most people were worth knowing, and he didn't waste his time hanging around those that weren't.

"Lucky you," he said, amused. Rasu was much more of an optimist on this. Yukimi was not the sort of person who believed people were worth knowing. In fact, he might know a bit too much about the ugliness of humanity in general. He didn't quite discount himself from that category, either.

"What are you doing here, anyway? Off to blow yourself up or something on-set?"

"Nah, my part's done already." That was subject to change, of course. Maybe the director would come up with a new stunt idea, or maybe his agent would call with a new gig. Or maybe one of the actors would simply decide he didn't want to rifle through a mud pit. Most people didn't realize that movie stunt work frequently meant doing things completely mundane because the actors weren't interested in dealing with it: taking a pie to the face; chasing an escaped rabbit through a pet store; having a giant centipede crawl up their calf.

"I'm just window shopping. Saw you and thought I'd say hi. What about you? Slow news day?"

"Nothing of earthshattering importance that requires my immediate attention, no," Yukimi said regretfully. He was actually killing time before his next appointment, an interview he was conducting with his contact at a pharma corporation. He was doing a story on off-label promotion of various anti-depressants and hormone therapy drugs. It wasn't a subject that lent itself to amazing small talk.

"What are you shopping for? Smart underwear? I hear the latest ones monitor your sleep and even come equipped with a special dreamscape interface."

Yukimi didn't look all that happy over the lack of news to cover. Rasu didn't blame him; it was hard when you were technically working but had nothing to do. So boring. Maybe they could still salvage the afternoon, though.

At the mention of smart underwear, Rasu had to laugh.

"No thanks. I'm pretty happy with the way I sleep already." A dreamscape interface might be kind of nifty, but the only thing that came between him and his sheets was a good-looking guy.

"I'm not looking for anything to buy. I checked out some of the newer electronics and games, thinking of swinging by the arcade. Wanna come?" Given that Yukimi might have to leave at a moment's notice, it was usually more fun to have a friend at the arcade.

Contrary to Rasu, Yukimi would love him some dreamscaping pajama bottoms. He tended to keep some odd hours, which made an extended restful sleep a thing of rarity for him. Dreaming, they say, helped in that endeavor.

"Sure, I'll come."

He nodded his head toward the street and started walking.

"Arcade seems a bit mundane. I would've thought you threw yourself out of airplanes for fun. Or don't tell me ... stuff gets boring if you gotta do it for work?"

"Skydiving takes too much forethought!" Rasu said with a grin, opting to build on the ribbing rather than bat it back. "You have to plan something like that."

That wasn't the whole story, of course, though it was true enough that an appointment was needed, usually booked several days in advance. There was a degree of truth in what Yukimi said... but it was also true that there were a wide variety of things Rasu liked as hobbies, and not everything was in the high-adrenaline category.

"But if you're dying to not need coffee for the rest of the day, I can probably find a bridge for us to jump off of instead."
yukimi: (well then)

"Can you, really? That sounds pretty fatalistic. How about building jumping? Ever gone flying through the urban jungle? Spider-Man style?"

Yukimi smirks as he walks beside him, stuffing his hands into his jacket.

"I didn't get that part, it was such a bummer! Too short and broad."

Might be pretty hard to do outside a stunt set anyway.

"We could mock skydive," He suggests. "Go to one of those centers with the giant fan and be suspended in midair from the force of the air flow?"
