The shadow manifested itself into an actual person, and not just anybody but a familiar face from that concert venue / bar that Yukimi sometimes frequented when he had a free evening. Being a journalist meant he was good with names and faces, even ones he encountered off the job in ambient light while lightly inebriated. (And it was actually quite possible that Yukimi had let loose some funny and bluntly honest quips too, as he was wont to do when he had alcohol buzzing through his veins...)

"Fancy seeing you here," Yukimi said. Jaeha, was the guy's name. He looked a little different in daylight. Though the characteristic smirk that seemed to dominate his face remained the same."I have a tender heart. Didn't you know that?"

He chuckled warmly.

"I do now," Jaeha acknowledged. It was something of an endearing sight. Many would pass by the alley, trusting the cat to find its own meal (and which it probably would) if they even noticed it at all.

"You stop by here for her often, or a first time visitor?"

[yukimi]

"Here, and a couple other alleys around this neighborhood. There's a lot of ferals running around this part of town."

Yukimi placed the bonito inside the box. The cat would probably come fetch it eventually, but he wasn't going to force it. He rose to his feet. Funny, the guy worked at The Black Cat, and now he was in feral cat central.

"Jaeha, right? Do you just gravitate to felines all the time, or are you headed somewhere else?"
