He wasn't going to pass on the opportunity to meet the one in charge. Work his way quickly to the top and show that he can be just as strong as the others that are already in the team. He wasn't going to be like the other lower level ones that seemed to be running around the court chasing balls.

That didn't look fun at all.

"Sounds great! I don't have any of my own equipment yet. I'll find a way to make it work. What's your coach like?"

"There are some spare rackets in the locker room," Fuji offered. "Although... you'll want to avoid the one with the loose gut." Echizen managed to make it sing, but he was a rare exception, and it just wouldn't be very sportsmanlike to not mention it.

He started walking closer to the court prep area, motioning with a tip of his head for Saotome to follow. "Ryuuzaki-sensei... mmh. She's strict, but she cares a lot about her people. She isn't the type to hold someone back, and she's always looking out for what's best for the students." A really great coach, all around. Fuji liked her, at least, and always thought it was touching that she even spent time with the team outside of tennis club practices, participating in bowling tournaments and beach volleyball, among other things.

He was going to miss her, he suspected, after he graduated.
